Based at Harper Adams University College (HAUC) in Newport, Shropshire, CaRE is a networking opportunity for like-minded individuals to exchange advice and experiences. This website is also an online resource for people seeking accommodation that can cater for their special or particular needs.


CaRE was initially set up in January 2002, and arose out of the Marches Farm Enterprise Programme (mfep), which demonstrated a number of areas where on-farm-but-non-farm businesses could readily use existing facilities.


Progress to Date

Since 2002, a national directory of members has been set up, networking events, seminars and conferences have been run to highlight the capacity that rural accommodation providers can offer to people requiring a bespoke short break. In 2006 and 2007 the website was relaunched and then redeveloped, which saw the directory continue to grow and events were held looking at the issue of Accessibility. Plans in 2008 look to continue this growth and offer more information to current and potential acommodation owners as well as information for those looking for suitable holiday accommodation. Always onwards and upwards!
